Good grief!

As a psychotherapist, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless people deal with grief and loss. But I’ve also experienced my own grief, and it’s something I’ve come to understand more deeply over the years.

Grief is a heavy and complex emotion. It’s a deep sadness that can’t be simply put into words. It can come in waves and take you by surprise. It can be so overwhelming that it can be hard to function. It can feel like you’re in a never-ending cycle of sadness.

I’ve learned that grief can be both physical and emotional. It can be exhausting and can make it hard to focus and concentrate. It might be hard to eat or sleep, or it might be hard to find joy in things. Grief can make us feel like we’re in a fog, and that our life is on pause.

The truth is, grief is a natural and necessary part of life. We need to allow ourselves to go through the process of grief in order to be able to move forward. We need to allow ourselves to feel our emotions and be present with them, rather than run away from them. Grief can be an incredibly difficult experience, but it can also be a powerful journey of healing and growth. It can help us to accept and understand the realities of life and death, and find a new way of living.

If you are going through grief and loss, know that you are not alone. There is no right or wrong way to grieve. You can move through your grief in your own time and in your own way. And you can find a path to healing.
